This product includes 5 science stations about the moon. Students receive a station booklet and rotate to the 5 stations which are meant to take about 15 to 20 minutes.
Station 1: Students read a one page passage about the moon and respond to prompts in their station booklet.
Station 2: Students use a diagram of the lunar cycle to complete a crossword puzzle about moon phases.
Station 3: Students create a model of the moon out of clay and use rocks and other objects to press craters into it. They draw an illustration of the model in their station booklet and respond to questions about it.
Station 4: Students research information about the moon on NASA's website to complete a scavenger hunt in their station booklet.
Station 5: Students assemble a diagram of the lunar cycle using cut outs of the Earth and different moon phases. If needed, they can use hint cards to help but try to complete the diagram using as few hints as possible.
The station booklet also includes a KWL chart and a word search for early finishers.
