Product Description
This puzzle is quite different. I’ve taken several quotes from a book that was written by a one time resident of Beaufort, South Carolina, Samuel Hopkins Adams. The quotes are from Canal Town . . . but they’re not complete, and it’s up to you to complete them correctly. Sometimes you’ll be choosing the correct homophone, sometimes you’ll have to choose the correct possessive form, and sometimes you’ll be forced into choosing the word that is actually spelled correctly. Then, to fill in the grid below the quotes, after you’ve chosen the proper word, evaluate the expression above it. Find the value of that expression in the grid, and put the problem letter on the blank above the number you’ve found. The expressions to use arithmetic on are all numbers that end in "5" that must be squared. Never fear! I have provided a Prelude that explains the process. It's not hard at all. This is a puzzle from Fun with Hilton Head and Beaufort (for the well-rounded puzzler who wants to know more.)
