This speech project can be paired with a characterization unit or just as a culminating public speaking activity after reading "The Most Dangerous Game." Students take on the persona of either Rainsford or Zaroff and try to convince an audience that the other is guilty of attempted murder. Included is a graphic organizer to help them cite their evidence and reason it, as well as a standards-based speaking and listening proficiency scale/rubric to help them self-evaluate and prepare for the task. Included is an instruction sheet, rubric for standard SL.4 (public speaking skills), and a graphic organizer.
