In this document you will find a journalism-style writing prompt as a reading-about-writing strategy for Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game.” In addition to the prompt, I have included a full model of the assignment, which students always find helpful. Sometimes they just do not know where to begin. After deconstructing the model, they will understand the depth of detail that you require.
★IDEA—If you do not want all students to write an article like the one I modeled, you might like to divide up the story into sections and ask students to write a detailed journal entry about an incident from the perspective of Rainsford or Zaroff.
