A standalone, fully resourced, lesson on the motor effect. Would be suitable for upper middle school or as part of an introductory high school physics course.
Included are printable resources, PowerPoint and everything else needed for delivery of the lesson.
The lesson includes opportunity for students to practically built their own electric motor. If you wish to do this activity you will need: a large battery, a small magnet, two paper clips (metal not plastic), an elastic band, nail varnish, two small pieces of electrical tape and a length of copper wire (for each student)
