This is a great resource that could be used as a whole class or with a small reading group with the book The Mouse and the Motorcycle. The document contains a page for each chapter in the book with a variety of reading skills and strategies.
Some questions are about comprehension while others ask students to use higher order thinking skills. The variety of questions include context clues, inference, prefixes, suffixes, summarizing, compare/contrast, making connections, dictionary skills, etc.
Each page starts out with a list of vocabulary words that are found in that particular chapter. I go over the word with the students before we read the chapter. I have also pre-assigned each student a different word to learn about and then have them report out in the small group.
The activity pages can be given out chapter by chapter or put together as a whole packet.
