Three pages of reproducibles ready to be used with Poe's short story "The Murders in the Rue Morgue". The student is placed in the position of detective and must form his or her own conclusions regarding how and why the murders were committed.
1. Page one is a graphic organizer that allows students to scan and record pertinent detail from the beginning of the story.
2. Page two is a graphic organizer that allows students to compare and contrast the various accounts of the witnesses to the crime.
3. Page three is a very brief introduction to inductive and deductive logic. Examples of each type of argument are provided and students are encouraged to form their own arguments about the murders based on these examples.
