Few songs are able to condense a couple hundred years into less than two minutes of singing. However, The Bonus Point Band puts music to melodrama as they tell the story of the building of The New World before the United States was formed.
Christopher Columbus lands in the Bahamas;
Ponce de Leon lands in Florida.
Ferdinand Cortes conquers Tenochtitlan;
King Henry the VIII starts a reformation.
Hernando de Soto looks at the southeast U.S.
And Coronado looks at the southwest.
Elizabeth the first becomes the queen of England.
Then Sir Walter Raleigh fails in Roanoke.
In 1603 James becomes the King of England;
Samuel de Champlain explores "Oh Canada".
In 1625, Charles is King of England;
Rogers Williams leaves MA for Providence.
Anne Hutchison is exiled to Rhode Island;
Virginia and Powhatans sign a peace treaty.
That's how The New World formed,
Before the U.S. was born.
Like the calm before the storm,
That's how The New World formed.
