This 28-page unit is designed to be used along with the book by Natasha Wing. *Book not included, please buy or borrow from your school library.
Sequencing Cards (16 cards): After reading the story, mix up cards and have students sequence the cards from beginning to end.
Story Comprehension Cards (18 cards): Students answer questions to demonstrate understanding of the story. Use the cards without picture choices for older students and cards with picture choices for younger students.
Leprechaun Trap Barrier Activity (Clip art & 2 backgrounds): Students choose a background and clip art pictures to create a Leprechaun trap.
Vocabulary & Concept Cards (17 cards): Students answer story vocabulary and concept questions using picture choices.
Make a Leprechaun Hat (Craft Activity with 3-card Story Retell): Students color and cut out pieces to make a paper Leprechaun hat. On the hat, they cut and paste pictures of the story showing the beginning, middle and the end. They can then practice retelling the story, using the pictures as aids.
Where's Me Gold? Open Ended Board Game: Use with the vocabulary and comprehension cards or any goal your student is working on. Have student answer a question card or produce a target goal and then roll dice to move along the board.
Following Directions Activity: Laminate Leprechaun scene and have students follow the directions using a dry erase marker.
Categorizing (worksheet): Students color all the pictures of things that can be green.
What Rhymes with "Gold"? (cut and paste worksheet): Students fill the pot with pictures of things that rhyme with the word “gold”.
Gold Coin Articulation (worksheet): Students write their sound or words with their sound on each of the gold coins for practice. Can be sent home as homework.
St. Paddy's Day Syllable Count & Color (worksheet): Students practice counting the syllables in each word and coloring in the corresponding number of squares.
Speech Therapy Update Form: Send home with your student after every session to let parents know you saw their child and what they did in speech therapy that day. Also includes an area for homework.
