Do you need an activity that outlines the key aspects to Richard Nixon's presidency? If so, we've got exactly what you're looking for!
This "The Nixon Presidency " Activity includes:
1) A checklist style activity that asks your students to determine whether Nixon was able to accomplish his goals in office. Some of the goals include: welfare reform, reduction in the size of the government, his southern strategy, economic stagflation, and improving relations with China and the Soviet Union.
Next students will analyze the cover of Time magazine featuring Nixon and Leonid Brezhnev. Once completed, they will examine a passage in which Nixon speaks about the SALT treaty. These PRIMARY SOURCES will allow your students to dig deeper into the Nixon presidency to see what life was like during the era of Nixon.
This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.
2) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension.
