The Olympic Games: a unique survey of modern World Historical events as seen through Olympic controversies
This resource can be used as a supplement in Middle School or High School World History as it takes students from Ancient Greece to World War Two, the Cold War and modern issues. The lessons are designed to show students how the Olympics and World History are intertwined, and the Olympics are often an opportunity for political issues to surface (e.g. protests, boycotts, etc.). Several video links are included to enhance the lesson. Could take anywhere from 2-4 class periods to complete. Enjoy!
