My kiddos absolutely LOVED this novel! They got so into it that they decided to create a Public Service Announcement for adopting animals and supporting shelters in our community. I do the novel study at the beginning of the year, because the reading level is perfect for the beginning of 5th grade. It would also be great for a 3rd or 4th grade enrichment project!
