This is a self-guided assignment. The tasks included are: vocabulary, document based questions, videos and reading to assess, and a creative wrap up to the lesson.
I have my students work independently in 10 minute increments. After each cycle, they pause to discuss their findings at their table, and we discuss as a class. This is a perfect time for collaborative work, or a Kagan Structure. I like to do a round table discussion for this time.
This lesson ties into Progressive reform.
