Have you been looking for a creative way to introduce and examine The Origins of the French Revolution? If so, look no further!
This "The Origins of the French Revolution" Activity includes:
1) An activity that is centered around the Estate system in France, focusing on the abuses toward the 3rd Estate. Students will first examine, through information given during lecture, the qualities of the three estates. Next students will examine a political cartoon that gives a great visual of the three estates and allows students to see a primary source that depicts the way in which the members of the 3rd estate felt during the time.
2) Students will be given the Tennis Court Oath and be asked to do a close reading of document. Students are asked to define key words that will help them better understand what the oath is saying. They are then asked questions from different passages that will give them insight into the document and see exactly what is being created with the Oath.
3) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension.
