This is aligned to the common core and provides students with opportunities to practice identifying examples of direct and indirect characterization as well as finding textual evidence of the characterization.
This is large enough to use as a minilesson, formative assessemnt, and summative assessment all in one.
Uses: Select one character to model as a minilesson on characterization and textual evidence. Then select one character to complete as a class. Allow students to get with a partner and complete it for a character of the teacher's choice. Finally, have students select a character and complete it individually to show mastery.
