This is a close reading poetry lesson of "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost from Chapter 5 of The Outsiders. It also includes a small project where students write their own related 8-line poem, find a poem elsewhere that really speaks and relates to them, and asks them to illustrate the poem.
This could be edited to be used independently of The Outsiders if you're doing a poetry unit!
