In this mini-poster project, students are asked to create a two-sided flyer for one of the Greasers from S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. The goal is for students to analyze character development by depicting the same character from two different perspectives. The Wanted poster should depict the character as the Socs and most of society would view the person (Johnny, Soda, Ponyboy, Dallas, etc.). The Missing Person flyer should depict the same character as their friends and family would see them.
This is a great take home project or activity, but can also be used as an in-class lesson. Presenting the activity to their peers also allows students the opportunity to exercise their listening and speaking skills.
