This is a very user-friendly and beneficial form for helping students learn to write a well-organized and well-developed paragraph that supports the claim statement with transitions phrases to emphasize the main points, examples to support those points, and a conclusion that does more than recap what is stated in the paragraph. This is aligned with the Common Core Standards for Writing and perfect for preparing students to write strong essays or to write well-developed short-response answers to questions commonly found on standardized tests such as the PARCC. Also, when students write in this format, it makes reading and assessing their writing much easier on you, the teacher, which is always a plus! I hope it works as well for you as it has for me, Robert Pierce, NBCT.
