Greetings from Cheryl Stewart's Place. Are you looking for more Christmas activities? If so, here is a cute Christmas story called The Perfect Tree. It's a story of a child's excitement as Christmas grows near and having to pick out a Christmas tree which has to be perfect. The child lists several attributes that the tree must have. It can't be too tall or too small, too wide or too narrow, too dark or too light. It has to be just right. After looking at several trees the child decides on one that is the perfect tree. The story is written for primary grades 2 and 3 but could be used for first grade as well. There are two versions of the story. One in color an the other black-line to save on ink. You could project the color version on the whiteboard and have copies of the black and white story for the students to use, color and draw on or to use as a homework activity. The story could be used to address asking and answering questions about key story details, understanding thematic Christmas vocabulary and identifying antonyms. It's a simple story that I think all will enjoy.
Happy Holidays from Cheryl Stewart's Place!
