So much information can be found on the periodic table that students tune out, their eyes glaze over, or I take cell phones away. This worksheet helps to clarify the basics, and, once they complete it they feel good about their ability to understand. The hardest issue for my students has been to calculate the number of neutrons using the atomic mass. They will find practice with that here. Once a few students say "ah-ha" they can peer teach!
Use this worksheet to help with an observation or evaluation, just be sure you know how to do a few from each section, then enlist students to do the rest. Cooperative groups of two or three, one-on-one with you, all work. If time is an issue do a few from each group. Finish for homework. An answer key makes reviewing the worksheet easy.
My best to you.
