This is a great culminating activity for the play version of The Phantom Tollbooth. After students have read the play, they then work on teaching a life lesson through a creative skit. This activity will read the following Common Core standards:
Students will show their understanding of connotative and nuanced meanings of words in their skit by using character and place names that tie to the plot and or conflict.
Students will organize their skit event sequences so that they unfold naturally and logically.
Students will use precise words, relevant descriptive details, and figurative language to convey experiences and events.
