To learn about the people and events involved in the establishment of the Plymouth Colony.
1 class period
In this exciting activity, the class is divided into five teams that take turns answering questions about the Pilgrims. Correct answers are worth either 50, 40, 30, 20, or 10 points.
Play begins with a person from Team 1 trying to answer the first question. If their answer is correct, Team 1 scores 50 points. But if the answer is not right, Team 2 can answer and score 40 points if correct. Each time a wrong answer is given, the next team in order can answer with the point value reduced by 10.
The order to be followed is given before each question.
Teams take turns going first. A new question is always worth 50 points.
Easy-to-follow Teacher Instructions and answer key included, along with a 20-question follow up quiz to measure student progress.
The quiz can also be given as a homework assignment.
