This 190 slide PowerPoint presentation includes general information on the eight planets (and dwarf planets), a ton of pictures on each planet (as many as I could fit), and a planet identification quiz.
Main points include: solar system (what is it?), astronomical units (AU), why the sun and planets are round, our 8 planets, terrestrial planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars), the gas giants (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune), Pluto and dwarf planets, and how we see planets by reflected sunlight.
Simple and easy to use. Can be used with Cornell notes. Great for middle school or introductory high school courses. As always, I try to include as many images as possible for relevant examples. If you would like more pictures of the planets, please check out my tours through the terrestrial and gas giants!
