PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Spend a week with two of America’s most beloved poets: Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman. This CCSS aligned unit from my American Romantic and Transcendental Writers Unit and my American Literature Bundle (please do not purchase both) develops students’ analysis and close reading skills as they work as a group and independently with six poems from the Romantic Era. Students wrap up the unit with a creative response project, a poetic explication and/or a test. All teacher notes and keys included.

More specifically, this mini unit includes:
* A short Webquest
* Three Dickinson Poems: “Because I Could not Stop for Death”, “Much Madness” and “We Grow Accustomed to the Dark”
* Three Whitman Poems: “O Captain! My Captain!”, “O me! O life” and “A Child Said, What is the Grass”

* Analysis Questions for the Six Poems with Teacher Notes
