This download includes:
Polar Express Word Search- Students search the train to find words from the Polar Express!
Polar Scramble- students use their critical thinking skills to unscramble the words on the list. This is fun to do with partners! **answer sheet included!
My Polar Express Adventure- This includes a brainstorm activity to help students think of ideas to write about their adventure along with a writing page.
Writing Pages- My favorite part of the polar express, If I could go anywhere on a train, & If I could give one gift it would be...
Secret Code: Your students will love cracking the polar express code by matching the picture to the letter.
Polar Express ABC Order: Students cut the words out and glue them in abc order on to the train cars.
Hot Chocolate Craft: Students get to decorate their own mug and marshmallows however they want. Then cut and paste on to the “Hot, Hot, Hot chocolate!” Page to make a cute display for a bulletin board.
How to make hot chocolate: Students write step by step instructions on how to make hot chocolate. You can demonstrate by making some for them in class first and then have them write about it!
Polar Express Compare & Contrast: If you plan on reading the book and showing the movie this is a great way for students to think about the similarities and differences between the two.
Polar Express Story Sequence: After reading the book or watching the movie have students write what happened in the beginning, middle, and end.
Bell Cut-Outs: I made these in case you want to get a small bell for each student and attach this note to it. It’s such a fun idea after you have watched the movie! In black and white and color!
Believe Tickets: My students always look forward to polar express day and I used these tickets to help them ”earn” their ticket on the train. It can be for good behavior, finishing an assignment, etc. I just punched a hole where the dots were and once their ticket was complete they knew they got to join our Polar Express Party!
Banners: I created two different banners for you to put on a bulletin board with the hot chocolate craft or just to decorate your room on polar express day!
