The Posh Cab was written particularly for older beginning readers, yet is very suitable for younger students.
Chet, the father of a teenage son, has a new job driving a "posh" cab (the likes of a limousine). His customers are so thrilled with the cab, they give him huge tips which he is not used to getting. He is excited to be able to buy things such as a new bed for his son, and a sub sandwich. Needless to say, he loves this new job!
Compatible after Level 2 of The Barton Reading and Spelling System, with minor exceptions.
Solely 3-sound, short-vowel words (exception rest).
Includes "qu" and digraphs: wh, sh, ck, ch, th (hard and soft /th/).
Limited sight words: is, has, his, was, to, too, said, of, I, for, my, OK, A.M, P.M. Students with previous sightword reading experience will likely recognize those in
