This .zip includes 4 tools for teaching and memorizing the Preamble to the United States Constitution.
The .doc graphic organizer, designed to fit in an interactive notebook, is a useful tool to accompany any textbook, reading, presentation, or lecture you use to teach about the Preamble to the United States Constitution. Using this, students will have organized notes that summarize the purpose and intention of the six goals as well as the meaning behind those three important words "We the People".
The .ppt presentation allows you to display the entire Preamble at once for choral rehearsal then gradually click to remove words/phrases until the class can recite the Preamble from memory. This is a great tool for memorization! I ask students to memorize the Preamble because the study of the Constitution can be overwhelming. I emphasize that if they know the Preamble, they know the "heart" of the Constitution.
Also included is a .doc quiz in which students write the Preamble word-for-word from memory and select two of the goals to explain in detail. Three variations of frames are also provided to assist students who are struggling during the quiz.
