The Princess and Curdie by George MacDonald is broken up into five reading sections and discussion questions are provided for each. Each of the seventeen questions encourages close reading and critical thinking about the events and characters in the novel as well as connecting student readers to the story emotionally.
In addition, unusual vocabulary is identified by chapter to encourage students to look up words in a print or online dictionary.
These questions assume that students have also read The Princess and the Goblin. At least one question assumes students are familiar with C S. Lewis and have read Prince Caspian.
