I have combined 2 Small Group Reader's Theaters into this package. They are the same title, The Princess and the Pizza but one is written for 3 characters and one is written for 4. It is a twist on the Princess and the Pea. When performing these, my students compare and contrast the original story and then these two using a Venn Diagram. The moral in these stories deals with when a person should get married and why but it is also meant to be funny.
The reason I rewrote the story twice is that I could not decide how many characters to use. This way, whether you have 3 or 4 students, you will have enough parts. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. This one does have a colored picture on the first page but the rest is black and white. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place.
My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. If you enjoy this script, look for other twisted fairy tales at my site. You can even save money by buying them in packs! I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
