The pumpkin is a rhyme set to the tune of London Bridge. It tells a story of growing a pumpkin from seed to harvest. For primary classrooms, it can be used to teach/reinforce sight words, rhyming words, consonants and vowels, or just to have fun singing a seasonal song. After the students are familiar with the song, use it in a literacy center. Laminate the pages and provide erasable markers and have students highlight specific things that reinforce literacy concepts you are teaching. Also a recording sheet for counting the frequency of words in the song is provided.
