The Raven and the Loon,
written by Rachel and Sean Qitsualik-Tinsley and illustrated by Kim Smith, and The Walrus Who Escaped,
written by Rachel and Sean Qitsualik-Tinsley and illustrated by Anthony Brennan, are delightful Inuit Tales that expose students to the mysticism of the Arctic.
These units support reading strategies such as visualization, connection, summarizing, and sequencing
and builds on story/tale concepts with planning pages for students to write and publish their own tales in mini-books.
Easy to use reading response pages have been created for each lesson; as well as student evaluation and teacher assessment rubrics for each page.
