Asking the right questions is 95% of eliciting the right answers, but developing questions is difficult and time consuming and the questions in textbooks and workbooks are basically the same from passage to passage. However, not to worry! Here is installment 3 of The Reading Teacher's Lifesaver: The "Write" Questions. As someone who worked on state testing development for 22 years and as a LA teacher/supervisor for 44 years, I have a treasure trove of probing, engaging, meaningful and substantive questions to share with you. Try them and you will see! As with everything else I have posted on TPT, these questions too have been "Kid-tested" and are sure to do the job.
