In the first activity you’ll use a typical classroom globe and a light bulb to show how Earth travels around the sun in its orbit and why it has seasons. We’ll look at four different cities and see how their length of day changes based on the position of Earth in its orbit and whether it’s tilted toward or away from the sun.
In the second activity you’ll use a light bulb and copies of the zodiac constellations to model the constellations we can see from Earth and how these change from day to night and month to month.
