“Recess Queen”, by Alexia O’Neill (book not included) is a wonderful read aloud book with lots of descriptive words. It is about a recess bully and how a new student wins her over.

Page 9-25 – Hopscotch – Print one copy for each student. Students will roll 2 dice – they can use just one of the numbers or add them together to get a number needed on their Hopscotch Board after they correctly answer the question. The first to fill their board is the winner. If both numbers are already filled, play passes to the next player. Sets (40 cards each) are included for antonyms, synonyms, multiple meanings, irregular verbs, verbs with pronouns (he, she, they), rhyming words, and categories. Each student can be working from a different set for differing objectives.
