The Red Hat is a great book written by David Teague. It is about a boy who perseveres, despite many difficulties from the wind, to meet a girl who lives on top of the tower next to his. The illustrations are interesting and the storyline will lead to great questioning and conversations by your students.
This book would be great to use for retelling purposes, discussions about perseverance, and for introducing engineering or the STEM (or STEAM) process. Check out the preview for specifically how I might use each of the pages in my own classroom.
