Product Description
"Santa Claus, St. Nicholas, Santa Claus, Dear Santa, Hey Big Red. . . DOESN’T ANYONE ELSE EVER GET MAIL AROUND HERE?? How come the only mail I get is addressed to Occupant or Current Resident?! Everyone thinks Santa is the Big Cheese around here. Well, let me tell you something. . . . without us, Santa’s nothin’."

Make your next Christmas program sparkle with this absolutely darling royalty-free play! Written by a National Board Certified Teacher in elementary music, our plays have tickled and delighted audiences all over the USA and Canada! Each one is comprised of five or more scenes that are designed to fit in between musical performances by different grade levels or groups of singers. You may not have that many singing groups. No problem!! Simply run two scenes back to back. Or should you just want a great little play for your upper elementary or middle school students, you can perform these scenes simply as a play, without the musical groups. This format allows you, the director, the flexibility to choose the music you want and still give your students the chance to experience the magic of theatre!

The Reindeer Rebellion synopsis:

Trouble begins in Toyland when Blitzen develops a very bad attitude. It seems he isn’t quite up to the two-a-days Santa has planned for the reindeer. Besides, Santa seems to get all the credit! After a quick look at the mail, most of which is addressed to “you know who”, Blitzen organizes and leads the other reindeer in a strike against the North Pole and its Big Boss. Twink and the other elves desperately try to change the stubborn reindeer’s minds, reminding them that Christmas is a team effort and what is important is the children!! When Blitz walks in with the list of grievances, Santa tenderly reminds him that true happiness comes from giving to others, not from taking all the credit. Why, without Blitz and the reindeer, and Mrs. Claus, and Leonardo and the other elves, Santa could never bring joy to all those children’s little faces. He reminds Blitzen of Mother Teresa who wrote, “We can do no great things, only small things with great love”. With that, Blitzen tears up the list of grievances and Santa whistles for the other reindeer to “Hurry, the children are waiting!”.

The play booklet comes with the script and notes, plus some other great tools, such as an optional Nativity ending, guidelines for costuming, a Sample Letter to Parents, and Artwork for your program!
