This includes The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost, 10 multiple-choice questions (higher level questions) and one open-ended discussion question.
The writing prompt includes the poem, a graphic organizer to guide students in planning their 5 part essay, and a grading rubric. This is a portion of the writing requirement:
Reread The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. This poem is a metaphor for choices that each person encounters in his or her lifetime. Sometimes choices seem insignificant but later yield serious or life-changing consequences. Think about how this applies to a time when you have had a choice to make.
• Next, give an example of a time in your life when you had to make a choice between two or more options. Tell about how you felt as you tried to make these choices and if you asked for help or advice from anyone to make your choice. Explain what factors you considered as you made your choice and then analyze the outcome of your decision. Are you happy with the results or would you like to go back and change that decision?
