This is intended to be a short collaborative assignment that requires smaller groups to research and present background information about dystopian/apocalyptic/post-apocalypic literature and the author. During the project, I use this opportunity to work with groups on effective searching and researching techniques. In addition, students are individually held accountable with a short paper that summarizes the research. We use school-wide rubrics to assess projects like this which are not included here.
The assignment heavily relies on New Literacies and student autonomy in the research process. It requires access to the Internet, note taking capabilities and familiarity with either GoogleDrive products or other presentation software.
