PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This PARCC-style assessment merges Macbeth and the poem, “Invictus” by William Henley into a performance assessment. Students will construct an explanatory essay in which they analyze how the character conflicts in the selections develop the connection between fate and characters’ actions. This task can be completed after reading Macbeth. Students will be provided with a theme statement from Macbeth and they will draw comparisons between it and how it is developed using one of the 7 key quotes from the tragedy. They will analyze an informational article how the provided theme is developed in Macbeth and “Invictus” by supplying textual evidence to justify their analysis.
