Have you been searching for an activity on the Roman Republic but can't seem to find what you are looking for. Are you looking to bring your classroom into the 21st century and go totally PAPERLESS? Look no further, we have got what you need.
This "Roman Republic" Digital Activity includes:
1) This activity starts with questions about what a Republic is. They will then fill out a venn diagram that asks students to compare and contrast an indirect democracy with a direct democracy. Students will then describe the social class of Rome by answering questions about the Plebeians and the Patricians.
Next students will read three laws from the 12 tables. The idea of the activity is to get the students reading the ancient laws allowing them to see what culture was like at the time. We need to understand the importance of having a written law and how that decreases the likelihood of corruption. Students will then read a passage from the Justinian code. Students will be able to see how the law has advanced and compare the law to our laws today.
2) A detailed answer key to help make grading a breeze and guide student understanding.
