This is an activity I have done with different lessons in various content areas. It’s an activity that’s meant to tie in life skills and social emotional learning to the content being taught. There are times I use this activity as its own lesson, as part of a bigger unit. Other times, I will use this lesson in a language arts class as a character analysis. This activity has also been used in social studies classes as well. Students will use this activity in social studies to put themselves in other’s shoes (a good exercise in empathy) of those in the past or current events.Either way, it’s a great activity that helps students understand the possible roots and consequences of our fears - a powerful emotion our students frequently experience.
