Students will be asked to identify the six signposts form Kylene Beers.
Using the blank chart, there are several options of how to use this activity in instruction with any book.
1. Read The Running Dream and ask students to fill in an empty chart and use the completed chart as an answer key.
2. Give the students the six examples in list format (provided) and have them match each example to one of the signposts and explain the significance of this part of the text.
3. Use this categorizing activity to teach what the signposts are and use the blank chart for any book of your choosing that is not part of the excerpt of The Running Dream I have provided.
