Have you ever struggled to teach a class, because you had some students who were excellent readers, and some who struggled greatly? You don't want to teach them different content, you don't want to grade different question sets, and you definitely don't want to single anyone out. Finally, a product that solves all of these problems!
Informational Text (4 pages) with reading comprehension questions. This assignment is meant to be an overview of the topic(s) listed from a World History perspective:
Russian Civil War
Pages 1-2 are estimated Lexile 1300 (CCST 9-12th grade)
Pages 3-4 are estimated Lexile 1030 (CCST 6-8th grade)
CCSS Lexile Chart
BUT THEY COVER THE EXACT SAME CONTENT AND QUESTIONS! If you can't tell the difference, neither can they.
Look up your students' state test results and lexile levels, and you automatically have differentiation and literacy-based instruction for your evidence profile! It's recommended that you challenge students with lexile texts that are at the high end of their current lexile range, or slightly higher if your school reports their lexile level as a single number.
This product contains the exact same 2 page informational text, with the same questions, but the worksheet itself is written in two completely different reading levels. I'm piloting this optional product with a few of my more popular worksheets. Please leave your feedback, as well as a request if you'd like to see another worksheet converted.
