The following six-page study guide film packet is used to accompany the Nicholas Pasquin-directed 1994 family fantasy Christmas film The Santa Clause, starring Tim Allen. It can be used in an English or film studies classroom. The first page contains a list of cast and crew and a background and introduction on the film. The second page is a page that allows viewers to jot and take down their own notes. Pages three, four, and five have comprehension questions to guide the viewer on the work's allusions, camera movement, characterization, cinematography, conflict, costume design, plot, sound, story, subtexts, symbolism, and themes. The sixth page contains discussion questions on the work's characterization, conflicts, ideologies, and themes. Some questions may need to be edited depending on your students' grade level and/or knowledge of film terminology.
A multiple choice quiz that can be used as a summative assessment that pairs well with this packet, a formative assessment, is available as a separate purchase by clicking here
