A RAFT project focuses on the following:
It helps break down a creative assignment for a student to make sure they are focusing on those four major components. This RAFT project gives students five creative choices (i.e. make a music soundtrack, write a transcript of when the three major characters were on a talk show, etc.) on how they wish to analyze The Scarlet Letter. Included in this document is both a good and bad example of how to do the music soundtrack choice. I've given examples of the soundtrack because it is by far the most popular choice.
I've done this project twice and it has been incredibly successful both times. At the end of the semester, the overwhelming majority of my students reported that this project was their favorite all year.
