The Scientific Method is an essential process to teach in elementary science classes. This activity is meant to make this process an easy and enjoyable one for you as the teacher, as well as engaging and educational for your students.
This mini unit focuses on how our teeth enamel is similar to an egg’s shell. Students will be soaking eggs in a dark soda, creating control and test groups, and brushing eggs with toothpaste! They will form a hypothesis, gather data, compare within their control and testing groups, and draw conclusions.
These easy to follow directions gives you a simple way of conducting an experiment and guiding your students through the scientific method. Make sure to take pictures, as you will get some pretty amazing results!
