Students review the people, ideas, and advancements of the Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution by mixing and matching 20 terms to their images and identifications, answering 9 review questions, and completing a creative task. Students create their own images for 4 terms (a written example is included). This includes a page of teacher instructions. The answers are included where appropriate.
Sample questions include:
--Using prior knowledge and inferring from context clues, what is the term for the opposite of heliocentric, and explain what it means.
--In what significant way did the Scientific Revolution not push religion out of the picture?
--Identify and explain some shortcomings of the Enlightenment, and what you think its greatest contribution to society was.
--Who believed that life without a government would be “nasty, poor, brutish, and short?”
