PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

“The Scribe” by Kristin Hunter is a terrific vehicle for teaching plot and plotline. It is also ripe for discussion about illiteracy, the migration North of African Americans during the Depression, ways to help others in our community, protagonists and antagonists, the symbolism of names…just for a few ideas! I’ve included your lesson plan for the day with Activator, Mini Lesson, Activity, Wrap Up and ELA Common Core Standard, as well as the Activity—all five components of plot pulled and typed from the lines themselves of the short story to rearrange in chronological order, label, and illustrate. This activity will bring plot to life in that it is the recreation of the key parts of the story which makes the rise and fall of plotline real to students. Have fun and best, Rockermom
