This resource is a book study for the story The Seasons of Arnold's Apple Tree, by Gail Gibbons. This is a perfect anytime-of-the-year story, as it tells all about a little boy named Arnold and how he interacts with his special apple tree throughout the year. It focuses on the life cycle of an apple, which is a plus if you're studying apples!
Included in this study are the following activities:
~Apple-Shape Book for Vocabulary Words
~Comprehension Question Cards for before, during, and after reading: Put these cards on a ring and keep them handy during your read aloud. Very helpful!
~An In-Class Applesauce Recipe (uses a crockpot!) This includes a picture-driven recipe so students can follow along, and answer questions during the making of the applesauce. The applesauce can be made in the morning and will be done by the time everyone is ready to go home! Your class will smell like cinnamon and apples for days...
