This slideshow defines words necessary for understanding the meaning of the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution. Each slide lists the Tier 2 vocabulary word, a kid-friendly definition, and visuals to better define each word. These slides will meet the needs of a variety of learners including those speaking English as a Second Language. This slideshow can be used in both ELA classrooms and Social Studies classrooms for vocabulary development. In addition, words related to making and supporting a claim are included as debate over the Second Amendment has been in the headlines as of late. Using the Second Amendment as a springboard for writing an argumentative piece is an option.
